I have decided to become left-handed. I'm going to do it by spending a certain period of time drawing with my left hand each day, posting the results and discussing.

cornspiracy asked: Wow your left hand drawings are so textured. I love it. I love YOU.
I love you, too!
I drew deadmau5 with my left hand and then darkened him up and defined him with my right hand. Then I realized that Virgin records isn’t going to let me use one of his songs in my video, and it would be kind of weird to use something else. I made a gif instead and you can watch it while you listen to Ghosts and Stuff on youtube if you want!

I think I like the gif instead of the video. It takes me less time. Which do you prefer?
I’ve done a lot of side-by-sides drawing from my eye, so I thought I’d try a drawing from my mind.
The idea was to take a concept borrowed from someone else’s brain (It was: “Opening a present”) and to draw it with my right hand from my imagination and with my left hand from my imagination with some wait in between.
I don’t think I waited long enough. While I was doodling the right handed one I got a picture in my mind from a memory of watching a friend open a box, and it distracted me. The left handed one took a couple tries and a lot of closing my eyes to visualize it more clearly and draw from the imaginary image like I would from a photograph.
With my right hand I draw from much faster impressions, thereafter the memory of those impressions, and from the experience of physical sensations. I am unaccustomed to imagining things in that visual detail and having to maintain the gestalt in my mind for the duration of the drawing process. I will probably get better with practice.
Here is the time lapse video for these drawings.
Okay guys, this is super weird! I switched hands from my right hand to my left at 3:25, and only noticed it while I was putting the video together this afternoon. My right hand is still twitching all over the place when I draw with my left. More proof that I was left-handed and forced to switch hands, or am I just starting to get used to it after weeks of practicing?
