Learning to be Left-Handed.

louzzaro said: I just found some of your drawings on tumblr and I was wondering if I could one of your pictures for a possible cover for the literary magazine i work with at my school? I currently am enrolled at Johnson State College of Vermont. The title of our magazine is Pamplemousse and I think the picture of the rabbit in the grapefruit would be perfect. I would love to hear from you, thank you for your time. Louis H Bizzaro.

Heck yes I will. I love that picture too. It’s named after my rabbit pomplemousse which why he is in a grapefruit. I would be happy to share that image. Thank you for asking!

Back to pencil. And yet again, the left is better.

Maybe my “artist’s block” was just me being sick of my pencil, the brush marker is okay.  I think I’m just impatient this week, the marker is faster and demands less detail.

I drew deadmau5 with my left hand and then darkened him up and defined him with my right hand.  Then I realized that Virgin records isn’t going to let me use one of his songs in my video, and it would be kind of weird to use something else.  I made a gif instead and you can watch it while you listen to Ghosts and Stuff on youtube if you want!

I think I like the gif instead of the video. It takes me less time. Which do you prefer?

I’ve done a lot of side-by-sides drawing from my eye, so I thought I’d try a drawing from my mind.
The idea was to take a concept borrowed from someone else’s brain (It was: “Opening a present”) and to draw it with my right hand from my imagination and with my left hand from my imagination with some wait in between.
I don’t think I waited long enough.  While I was doodling the right handed one I got a picture in my mind from a memory of watching a friend open a box, and it distracted me.  The left handed one took a couple tries and a lot of closing my eyes to visualize it more clearly and draw from the imaginary image like I would from a photograph.
With my right hand I draw from much faster impressions, thereafter the memory of those impressions, and from the experience of physical sensations.  I am unaccustomed to imagining things in that visual detail and having to maintain the gestalt in my mind for the duration of the drawing process.  I will probably get better with practice.
